Hall of Mirrors Drops July 8

Hall of Mirrors, Volume 3 of The Coil, arrives July 8, 2026.

This is the book that took the longest to write — not because the story was unclear, but because the underworld it describes became real. I wrote this novel across eight years and through losses I didn't anticipate, including the death of my father. Mictlán stopped being mythology. It became something I had to navigate personally, the way Nestor Buñuel navigates it in the pages of this book–and that's because I had to grieve the real-world loss of several of my loved ones.

Those who have followed the How to Kill a Superhero saga know that Roland's power — nagualismo — was given to him directly by Tezcatlipoca. Naguales lurk and creep in many other parts of my Aztecverse, and just like in the legends, you'll have to be clever if you want to find the nagual. 

Hall of Mirrors will continue the story of Nestor from 9 Lords of Night. And it will go beyond the limits of the imagination.
